This here is a gold stater, Which represented a standared form aof currency in Antiquity. Originally this was one of the thirty coins that were found in a terracotta jug in Sardis. Those thirty staters, including this one were probably buried for safe keeping before the Persian conquest of sardis. These types of coins varied in weights acording to thier place of issue.They were also made from electrum and silver. Croesus was the first king to issue these gold and silver coins, the Lydians called this the coinage. Both gold and silver coins were stamped with the same design,the confronting foreparts of a liona nd bull. The weights of these coins also were arranged so that one gold coin was worth twenty in silver coins. Additionally, the design of the lion and bull were minted after the reign of Croesus.
Right now Greece is going through a tough time because of debt. Thay have now come to the last resort of getting mony from IMF, that is the world agency that lends money in situations like this. Money is so bad that taxes have gotten higher and money is now beingasked from other places. To discribe the situation, Greece has dug a hole to deep and now is stuck and can't get back up, without alot of help from others.
Greece in the Archaic Period was made up from independent states or city-state. The society was brocken up between free people and slaves. It was also the first civilization to have the first democracy and this effected evry day in Ancient Greece. As more time passed, the society was then brocken up between citezens and non-citizens(including women). Sice that happend, there were obligations to become a citizen and if you had all the requirments, you then could be a citizen.The only problem was that wemon did not take a role in Ancient Greece that much. Gods played a major role because they were unique and helped one in different ways. Also, politics played a major part and so did philosophers, plus thier philosophies. Much of what happend back in Ancient Greek civilization affected what happens today.
